How to use your Brick

Get started

The Brick is an all natural product. Therefore, while closing a gap between bottom and lid can range up to 4 mm. Turning the lid 180 degrees often reduces the gap.

Before using the Brick for the first time clean it with water and a mild detergent.

If you would like to steam-cook your dish, just soak the lid of your Brick for at least 15 minutes in water before heating to allow the clay to absorb moisture for steaming.

Let’s fill and eat

You can use the Brick either open or closed for cooking, baking, steaming, roasting and barbecuing.

Make sure there is always some liquid in your Brick when cooking. If necessary, add some water.

Please note that the Brick becomes very hot on the BBQ or in an oven. Be sure to use fire resistant gloves when handling.

The Brick can withstand temperature shocks of over 900°C.

Don’t mess it up

The Brick is easy to clean as they are dishwasher safe. If you find that some residue will not come off the Brick, soak it in hot water and white vinegar before cleaning it. After the cleaning you should leave the brick open for drying and then store it in an open environment where the ceramic has space to breath.
